Boston Tech Salaries – Top of the Nation
Interesting data from Indeed.com showing what cities in the US have the highest tech salaries when adjusted for cost of living. While you would expect to see the Bay Area or other West Coast hot spots at the top of the list that is not the case. When looked at through the lens of COL Boston, Washington, DC and Columbus, OH are the cities where tech pays the best.
In fact, when you look at the whole top ten you still don’t see West Coast or even other traditional hot spots like Austin, TX.

While this may not mean we will all be running out to buy a new Boston Harbor view condo it is great to see how green the grass is on the other side of the fence. It is also worth noting that some of the cities in the top ten continue to experience growth for those that may be looking to make a change. Columbus, Detroit, Milwaukee – all interesting stories that we have watched with interest over the past several years. At the end of the day though – Indeed says you can rest assured you are likely well ahead of your peers around the country if you collect your salary in Boston!
